Astana Expo Centre - Kazakhstan
Astana Expo Center was built for The International Specialized Exhibition EXPO 2017 “Future Energy”.
It is located in Astana, Kazakhstan’s capital and was designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture. The design is a micro district, with recreation and park areas, residential buildings, a hotel, shopping mall, and a congress center. Nur Alem, Kazakhstan’s pavilion, is the largest spherical building in the world. The buildings are power plants using solar and wind energy creating a sustainable design demonstrating future energy. Mikodam/IKOOR took part in this project, producing the built-in furniture of the VIP Area.
